Recently 15 Year 10 pupils took part in a STEM competition with PwC Hive Tech Academy.
This competition involved a number of sessions on cyber security, digital media, VR and AR as well as design and problem solving tasks with the aim to design and present a product or service to a team of dragons.
The pupils worked in teams to problem solve, generate ideas, develop, prototype and present their ideas throughout the week with final presentations to a panel of Dragons including staff from local companies as well as management of PwC.
The pupils really enjoyed the project explaining how it helped them to build confidence in public speaking and presenting in front of judges as well as learning STEM related content.
All teams worked extremely well throughout the project. Group 1 including Isabela, Julia, Lauren. Aimee and Nell won a certificate and prize for problem solving. Bradley won an award for resilience when working within a team and Group 3 with Ewan, Zac and Scott came 3rd place overall with their idea Zizi.
Well done to all students who took part in the event.
